About the publishing system 
This journal uses the open-source platform Open Journal Systems (OJS) to manage the editorial workflow, peer review, and the online publication of articles. The system is developed and maintained by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) with the aim of improving the quality of academic research and supporting Open Access to science.

Journal of Physical Education and Sport (JPES) is an international, open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated to publishing high-quality, innovative research in the fields of sports science, physical education, and human kinesiology.

About Publisher History and Ownership:
Established in 2003 by the University of Pitești Press (Editura Universității din Pitești), the journal has grown to become a widely recognized brand in sports research and is officially registered as a trademark with the Romanian State Office for Inventions and Trademarks (OSIM). Since 2020, the publication has been taken over, fully funded, and published by RO Sport & Art (Ro Sport & Art Association), operating as an independent, non-governmental publisher.

  • Physical Education & Motor Learning: Pedagogical approaches, physical literacy, motor control, and school sports.

  • Kinesiology, Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation: Exercise therapy, sports traumatology, active aging, and functional recovery.

  • Exercise Physiology & Sports Medicine: Cardiovascular responses to exercise, sports nutrition, metabolism, and health promotion through physical activity.

  • Sports Management & Psychology: Sport sociology, behavioral sports psychology, fan engagement, and sports economics.

  • Publication Frequency: 12 issues per year (monthly publication), ensuring a dynamic and rapid dissemination of research.

  • Language of Publication: English.

  • Submission & Evaluation Fees: The journal does not charge any fees for article submission or editorial evaluation.

  • Publication Fees: An Article Processing Charge (APC) / publication fee is applicable only after a manuscript successfully passes the peer-review process and is officially accepted for publication.

  • Open Access Policy: All accepted articles are immediately and permanently free to read, download, and share under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
