Abstract

Rejuvenating the roster of volleyball team players is an inevitable process that does not always proceed smoothly. Aim: To analyze the impact of rejuvenating the main roster of volleyball team players on sports results. The study involved volleyball players from the men's teams of Brno (Czech Republic), Taraz Dzhambil (Kazakhstan), and Podillia (Ukraine). The total number of athletes was 104 (n = 104), including young volleyball players under 23 years of age (n = 37). Methods: Analysis of scientific and sports literature; monitoring of the team's age composition; comparison method; grouping method; method of generalizing indicators; statistical analysis method; method for evaluating quantitative indicators; expert assessment method; mathematical methods for determining the reliability of results. Results. Analysis of the performance indicators of the volleyball team “Brno” shows that in the games of the 2022/2023 season, young players participated in 10.08% their efficiency was 17.88% (p < 0.05). In the games of the 2023/2024 season, young players participated in 39.19% of tactical and technical actions, their efficiency was 35.99% (p < 0.01) which improved the team’s results. Analysis of the performance indicators of the volleyball team “Taraz Dzhambil” shows that in the games of the 2023/2024 season, young players participated in 13.19% of actions, their efficiency was 14.01% (p < 0.05). Young players took part in 27.03% of the team’s tactical and technical actions. Their effectiveness was 5.81% (p < 0.05). There was a process of unbalancing the team, which led to a decrease in sports results. Comparative analysis of the tactical and technical actions of young volleyball players of the Podillia team in the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 seasons showed high effectiveness of their actions. The results of the participation of young players were within 43.88÷45.58%, which indicates the constant involvement of young people in game actions. The effectiveness of the group of young players was within 22.26÷26.44% (p < 0.01). Conclusions. The introduction of young players to the main composition of a professional volleyball team is a complex, dynamic process of adapting players to the peculiarities of tactical and technical actions in a new team. Rejuvenation of the team can lead to changes in the quality of the team’s tactical and technical actions and, as a result, to an improvement in results or their deterioration.
